Epoxy Resin Vacuum Casting: Process & Equipment
GOOGIO delivers integrated epoxy vacuum casting solutions covering vacuum degassing, precision metering and dynamic mixing, smooth vacuum casting and stepped curing — for highly consistent, defect-free insulation parts.
Power electrical, new energy vehicle and specialty composite applications demand consistent performance, electrical reliability and defect-free molding from epoxy insulation parts. Epoxy resin vacuum casting is a key precision molding process, and integrated professional equipment makes these requirements achievable. GOOGIO, a manufacturer focused on high-end fluid control and composite molding equipment, provides stable, efficient integrated solutions for this process.

1. Process Overview
In vacuum casting, pre-degassed epoxy resin mix is fed smoothly into a mold containing pre-placed inserts and then cured. The goal is to remove gas and moisture from the raw materials and the mold cavity, minimizing bubbles, delamination and other defects after curing and markedly improving mechanical strength, electrical insulation and long-term operating stability.
2. Key Process Steps & Equipment Support
A complete vacuum casting system is the foundation for controlling quality from raw material to finished part. The GOOGIO solution covers these core stages:
Raw material pretreatment and vacuum degassing:
Process: Parts A and B are stirred and vacuum-degassed separately in heatable sealed vessels to remove gas and trace moisture absorbed during storage and transport. Molds and inserts are usually preheated and dried under vacuum.
Equipment: GOOGIO supplies vacuum degassing tanks with stirring, heating and high vacuum, plus standalone mold pretreatment vacuum chambers sized to the production cycle, creating ideal conditions for casting.
Precision metering and dynamic mixing:
Process: The degassed two-component material must be metered at a strict ratio and mixed evenly with low disturbance before entering the mold. Ratio accuracy directly determines final cured properties.
Equipment: High-precision metering pumps and mass flow meters keep the ratio stable. Material is blended uniformly in static or dynamic mixers, with the whole process monitored under vacuum or pressure to prevent secondary bubbles.
Smooth casting under vacuum:
Process: The mixed resin must flow smoothly at a suitable rate into the mold cavity while vacuum is maintained. Controlling casting speed and path is critical to avoiding turbulence, entrapped gas and incomplete filling.
Equipment: GOOGIO casting systems use precision control valves and a PLC to set casting profiles with slow start, linear acceleration and multiple speed stages, ensuring laminar filling.
Stepped curing and post-treatment:
After casting, parts are cured on a program-controlled temperature profile matched to the material, optimizing internal stress distribution and material performance.
3. Technical Features of the GOOGIO Solution
To meet the challenges of consistency, reliability and efficiency, the GOOGIO solution focuses on:
Integrated flow: continuous equipment integration from material handling to casting and molding, reducing transfer steps and improving process stability and productivity.
Fine control: built on expertise in precision fluid control, it delivers accurate monitoring and closed-loop control of temperature, vacuum level, mixing ratio, casting speed and other key parameters.
Traceable data: an intelligent control system logs complete production data to support quality analysis, process optimization and production management.
